I’ve always been drawn toward Luxury Goods. Not so much extravagant and gaudy products where you’re overpaying for packaging/marketing/branding but more so Goods that clearly had a skilled Craftsman involved, where thought, intention and care were clearly evident. I’d like to think Craftsmanship is the foundation of true Luxury. That’s one of my goals here at Handcrafted Movement- to take everyday materials and manipulate them into beautiful and awe inspiring things. And that’s something I love about creating these Tiny Home, each is a blank canvas to practice Craftsmanship and in turn create Luxury. Onward and Upward! Matt

Don’t make something unless it is both necessary and useful; but if is both necessary and useful, don’t hesitate to make it beautiful. -Shaker design philosophy. 👌🏻🙋🏼♂️ One of my goals for this Coastal Craftsman Tiny Home was to scale back on overwrought details and keep it simple, functional and beautiful. This one is sale pending and should be heading to the California coast soon!
Happy Saturday! 🙋🏼♂️ Designing the interior of the next tiny home today, drawing some inspiration from previous projects. The next tiny home will be up for sale in February, our Pacific Harmony model is still available, link in profile.
Quotes that inspire this morning..
“There’s a snobbery at work in architecture. The subject is too often treated as a fine art, delicately wrapped in mumbo-jumbo. In reality, it’s an all-embracing discipline taking in science, art, maths, engineering, climate, nature, politics and economics.” Richard Foster - - - this quote speaks to one of my favorite parts of creating Tiny Homes- every precious inch must be considered and put to use- there’s little room for overly complicated and needlessly pretentious elements. Enjoy your Friday my friends! 😎 Matt
If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. - Henry David Thoreau
Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful. - William Morris
This quote sums up where Handcrafted Movement is going- "Organizations should be ... no less than cathedrals in which the full and awesome power of the Imagination and Spirit and native Entrepreneurial flair of diverse individuals is unleashed in passionate pursuit of Excellence"

One great thing about creating Tiny Homes is that you have a real opportunity to express your values more so then in a traditional sprawling home. We value quality over quantity. In everything. We value the handmade more then things made by machines. We value leaving materials with as much raw character as possible. We value creating spaces where natural light can pour in. Oh man, this is just too fun. - HM
Architecture is an expression of values - Norman Foster
Currently the average new home in the USA will be 2500 square feet and growing bigger by the year. To cut 90% of that out and create a livable tiny home is a true challenge but so rewarding. I’m daily inspired and encouraged by the creative and innovative solutions I see popping up all over the internet. My missions not to just create sterile utilitarian spacesRead More
